Dear all
I have recently subscribed to this list and have a question for you.
I coordinate a second-year Human Factors subject in the BSc (Aviation)
degree program at the University of Newcastle, Australia, titled "Group
Interaction and Flightcrew Performance". A major focus is CRM and students
work in groups to design an airline CRM course as a major assignment towards
their overall assessment.
In parallel, I would like to run a small piece of research to attempt to
establish current CRM practice in airlines globally.
I hope to get a picture of what the major and other airlines in various
countries are actually doing with HF and CRM training at present.
I would like to find out what types of Human Factors and CRM training
individual airlines give their staff within the following five criteria:
1. What training is currently given, including module breakdown, name, and
duration of each component?
eg introductory, 2 days;
communicaton module 1/2 day;
LOFT session 2 hrs, annual recurrent trg etc
2. Who receives the training?
eg tech crew, cabin attendants, mgt, maintenance, ops staff etc
3. Delivery methods employed?
eg, lecture, small group seminars, videos, LOFT trg in simulator etc.
4. Who are the presenters?
eg, tech crew, cabin crew, consultants, mixture, etc
5. Who are the developers?
Airline staff, consultants, mixture etc
I wonder if subscribers to this newsgroup would have information on current
practice by airlines they are familiar with that they could share in as much
detail as possible. (Or contact details for those I could ask direct in the
indiviual airlines).
If so please email it direct to me, and indicate if you would like any of
the information, or the source, to be confidential for any reason.
If the group is interested I would be happy to disseminate the findings back
to the group for all of our information.
Thanking you all in advance,
Regards, Mike
