G'Day

I owe this group an apology. In a late night smart alec note to a
colleague I overstepped the bounds of courtesy and inadvertently posted
the remark to the group. Pilot error! And no excuses ... maybe too few
brain cells. Not a good marker for cooperative work.

Speaking of which, I have read a few reports on Al Haynes, the DC-10
skipper, making public addresses on the experience. He declines any
personal status and makes much of the support he got both on the flight
deck, from all crew members, from ATC, and the role of rescue crews.
That's an indication of the microculture he would have promoted in his
crews, and not just on that one day.

It's certainly a standard I'll try to abide by in future. Deep apology
once more for a stupid statement.
