I've enjoyed the recent "exchanges" on the relevant topic........(Doug, =

Anyway, perhaps we should take a look at starting a new thread(s)?
It never ceases to amaze me just how "inventive" flightdeck crewmembers =
can be in coming up with really useful "rules of thumb" concerning just =
about everything to do with effective operating techniques, and it's =
really surprising just how accurate these are when you "go back to the =
books" and compare the rule-of-thumb solution to the book (FCOM/OM/AFM =
whatever) solution, e.g., really accurate "guesstimations", quick =
solutions to PNRs, CPs etc etc etc.
Perhaps those with more than 3 brain cells may like to "share the =
information" with those of us with LESS than the defined "grey matter" =
limit?
