I'm finding the discussion of roleplaying quite interesting. I too have found
it valuable in teaching flight instruction courses at the college level. At
first, there are self-conscious attempts to "act." But as the level of
awareness rises among the participants, they often drop the act and learn
about themselves and how others repond to their communications (or lack of
same).
Incidentally, I find it difficult to understand a "culture-free" environment.
I have never experienced such a situation.
