We produced "The Dryden Accident" at Australian Airlines in 1992 for use
with our integrated crew training courses. The inspiration to make the
film and assistance with script development was provided by David Adams of
BASI, who was involved in the CASB investigation, advised the Moshansky
commission, and features in the video.
I presented the video and a related paper at the Seventh Ohio Symposium in
1993 (pp. 478-481). It has since been shown at many meetings and at my last
count (1994) was in use with airlines and related training organisations in
over 30 countries.
Qantas Airways inherited the video as a result of the merger between our
two companies. The tape, which runs for just under 19 minutes, is still
available from Qantas. I am not sure of the current price.
