Recently I red in Aero-Med list a Captains post whom testing a super
soundproof head set felt not so good because he felt loosing sensations,
necessaries for him, to get a better control (speed sensation, engines
status etc.) of his ship.
May we say that in Hi noise level cockpits (like turbo props or helo's) its
inherent environment noise level contributes to improves the pilot's
awareness level? And the generalisation of use of digital noise suppressers
of hi-efficiency may impact negatively on this field???
