Your job as a CFI will be complicated by such roguism. I remember a time
when I was out with a light plane student and we lost a magneto system.
Since the aircraft had a dual magneto system, the student didn't even
notice. I took the aircraft and landed at a site only a few miles from our
home drome. After being transported to the home drome, the chief flight
instructor criticized me for not stretching the trip a bit longer to bring it
home for maintenance. That was over 20 years ago and I still remember
it...I'll bet the student does too...
