Hi CRMers,

this subject is a good opportunity to introduce myself and contribute
a bit to the discussions that I am following from about 700 mails
ago.

We have designed the CRM seminar that presently running for example
within Lufthansa German Airlines. The program focusses three major
topics, that are Teamwork, Communication, and Decision Making.

As an element of the training units on Decision Making we have
developed a mnemonic, called FOR-DEC. It is an acronym
which in connection to guiding questions describes an "ideal"
decision making process as follows:

F FACTS - "What is actually going on?"
O OPTIONS - "What are the choices we have got?"
R RISKS & BENEFITS - "What are the pros and cons?"
- (break)
D DECISION - "What shall we do after all?"
E EXECUTION - "Who shall do what, when, and how?"
C CHECK - "Is everything (still) allright?"

During the seminar FOR-DEC is use as a meta-rule for crew problem
solving games and for the analysis of case studies.

I presented to papers in English. They are for example available
in the proceedings of the AGARD AMP 81st Symposium in Prague, May
1996 or in volume 3 of the EAAP proceedings of the 21st conference in
Dublin, 1994.

There are several other models as well. You migt know DELETE or PASS
(Problem, Acquire, Survey, Select).

Best regards
Hans-Juergen
