My name is Julie Oldenburg. I am a student with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Master of Aeronautical Science (MAS) distance learning program. I am currently assigned to the safety specialization, but plan to add HF for a dual specialization.
ERAU's HF MAS degree is coming on line soon (Distance Education), and it is basically a aviation psychology degree. The university has an accredited Aviation Systems Psychology degree, but it is offered only on campus. You can also find course overviews for all ERAU online/distance learning MAS Master degree programs at ERAU's homepage. There's lots out there...you just have to look.
The program director for the distance program is Jim Gallogly you can reach him at his compuserve address: 74774,136_at_compuserve.com
As for the statement about HF at ERAU's extended campus - HF is included at almost all of their extended campuses overseas (i.e. US military facilities). You can contact the base education office and ask for more information.
You can apply for the online psychology program with University of Idaho, which also specializes in Human Factors. It is not an aviation degree, but it still relates in almost all areas. Look for the degree on the web at www.uidaho.edu/evo or contact Barry Willis, Director of Engineering Outreach at outreach_at_uidaho.edu
I wish you luck,
Julie Oldenburg
