Thanks for the reply, I understand and appreciate your sentiments on the
matter.
As you can imagine, a decision that affects your lifestyle and careers
so drastically is an important one to make, and what has annoyed me so
intensely is that it was made without any industry consultation or
scientific grounding. As you said, each situation should be judged on
its individual merits, not in a global ruling which smacks of
discrimination. Ironically, the company would be quite happy to let us
fly together if we visited the courthouse and got a (paper) divorce!!
The decision has also affected two Captains (fathers) who are now not
allowed to fly with their First Officer sons.
