I am going through a program to qualify as a check airman and part of the
program is to monitor a number of simulator sessions. This past week, we had
2 guys in the sim and, as with all sim courses, there is 3hrs of stuff to do
in 2hrs... so the pace has to be kept high to accomplish all the required
training.

These two guys are *contantly talking* and that seems to be active CRM.
Questions are presented (what altitude are we looking for next?... 2 miles
we descend to 2700, right?) and answered. Any time there is a question, both
pilots are verifying they are satisfied with the answer. This constant
conversation in a high workload area is not chit chat but all task relevant
and I was impressed.

Magic bullet? Nope but I think advising the crews to focus on the task at
hand and keep talking is a good start..
