For all those who are interested in CRM training for Cabin Crew,
ICAO, the international civil aviation organization has included a Chapter on
Human Factors in its Doc 7192, Part E-1, Cabin Attendants' Safety Training
Manual (published December 1996).

The syllabus in the specific Chapter is designed to enable trainees
to apply concepts learned in CRM training in the performance of their duties
and responsibilities. It will also enable them to develop awareness of their
performance as crew members and to accept the need for supportive and
co-operative inter-relationships among crew members (both cockpit and cabin).

The training manual's approach is centered on safety training and in
the chapter for Human Factors and another chapter on Emergency Procedures
emphasizes the concept of "one crew" thus highlighting the need for joint
training and emergency procedures exercises. It was developed to be of use to
both the trainees and instructors and follows an approach developed by ICAO's
TRAINAIR Programme on the basis of training as a tool to develop knowledge,
skill and attitude (KSA) to perform a given task.

Those who may be interested in acquiring a copy may wish to contact
the Documents Sales Unit of ICAO at <Sales_unit_at_icao.org> or call (514) 954
