First an appology. As Vince has pointed out, my initial approach was too
general and somewhat flippant. To qualify my area of interest a bit, I am
conducting serious research (hopefully towards a PhD) into the effects that
CRM training for cabin crew might have on flightdeck/cabin crew interactions,
and how such CRM training might best be structured to optimise its cost
effectiveness.
I have now been working on the subject for about a year and am familiar
with a reasonable amount of the published literature
(Chute/Wiener/Hayward/Merritt/Helmreich etc) but much remains to be done. I
am working with 2 UK airlines and hope to start formal data collection later
this year.
I am asking for help in pinpointing identifyable areas where CRM training
for cabin crew might prove valuable, especially as it seems to me that
most airlines are very reluctant to actually schedule joint pilot/cabin
training, except for SEP drills, as it is too expensive and awkward to
roster. This is where personal experiences could be of great benefit.
That said, I have received more response in the last 4 hours than I did
in the previous week! Please keep your comments coming.
Many thanks,
Laurie
